6 Short Months

My baby girl was 6 months last weekend. Its so cliche, but the time has really flown by. She has developed such a cute and fun personality, that I know started the minute that little heart of hers started to flutter. She was always REALLY active while I was carrying her and I had more than a few people tell me after watching her on a u/s that she would be an active one. And at 6 months she is. I can tell now that we are going to get reports from her teachers on how she was talking non-stop during class...just like I did. She doesn't seem to ever stop moving, and when she does she's quick! She's grabbing anything within reach and putting it in her mouth, which I thought started much later, and only napping for about 20-30 minutes at a time. But that's been the same since she was born, so were used to it. Here are her stats as of last Thursday...

So, she's small. Is that really surprising??? C'mon now. The doctor says not to worry about it. I know if we could get her healthy and get her to STAY that way, she would eat right and put on a few pounds. But until there is a cure for chronic ear infections (please share if you know one) that visit us on a bi-weekly basis, we just have to let her be a petite little sweetheart. The ear infection she had a little over a week ago is getting better. They are FINALLY letting me put her on Zyrtec, but after 4 days, I'm not seeing a difference yet. (Dr said to give it 7, then increase the dosage.)

Here are 10 things about her that I can look back on and remember in another 6 months, a year, 2 years, 6 years, 16 years *yikes*!

1. She always wakes up with a smile. She will lay in her crib for a good 20 minutes as I try and pretend that I don't hear her so that I don't have to get up. But don't worry, once her laughs and squeals get a little more intense and not as friendly sounding, I DO get up.

2. She loves babies and children (and just about anyone else). She will laugh and smile at another baby or child almost immediately, with even strangers in Petco, she lights up to.

3. Chynna loves her and she loves Chynna. It's the cutest thing to see how Chynna can always get her attention. Whether she's being soaked by puppy kisses or not, she will always reach out her hand to her and she will squeal with excitement and delight when she sees her walk by.

4. She's getting hair! It's mostly all on top, but its coming! I was able to make her one of the most fashionable hairstyles around.

5. She's getting teeth too! And thought I can't see them yet, I know they are coming by the swollen gums and bad attitude. She's such a sweet and happy girl and I really shouldn't complain. But since she's such a happy girl...I'm not used to all this fussing.

6. She is so in love with her Daddy. She just lights up at the sight of him. Every time.

7. Her changing table is her favorite spot in the house. She can be in the worst mood, having a horrible time, and to the point of almost crying (because she never cries) I put her on that changer, and she goes to laughing every time. So, that's why so many pics there. It's her happy place...literally! (see #4 for proof)

8. She's so small, about half of the clothes she wears (if not more) are still 3 months!

9. As previously mentioned, she loves to eat. And now we have the Dr. ok for her to get it twice a day! We haven't come across anything she doesn't' like yet. And she loves her yogurt/banana mix juice, and squash!

10. This kids a pro at taking medicine. Sad, but true. We have recently upgraded from the dropper to the spoon and she took to it so well...

And one to grow on...
11. GOD HAS TRULY BLESSED US WITH A HAPPINESS AND LOVE BEYOND ANY WORDS, AND ANY BELIEF. Being a Mom is so much more than I ever dreamed it would be.
