But you know, it made me realize something...mom's like to exaggerate...Such as maybe she didn't completely roll over, as she did kind of roll over. She may have been a little tilted more to one side than the other...I don't know really. Does that count as a roll over to anyone but other parents? And along those lines, we also like to exaggerate things such as their baby is talking, walking, eating on their own, etc. It just seems to me that the little things that matter so much in a Mom's eyes, may make another person go, "you call that rolling over?"
Or, when a baby says is pointing to a sofa and says "mamamamama", you immediately call your husband and say, " *insert child's name here* said their first word!" Of course, she DIDN'T, that's just silly. But to a Mom, that's pretty dang close!
What about when your child puts the spoon in his or her mouth the first time, and gets more food on themselves than in their mouths? But, they are still feeding themselves, right?
I am guilty of one of these...well sort of. She really does know how to hold the cup, even if she only drinks one full drink out of the cup (which is usually an accident). I wanted her to start the cup early because I read somewhere that it helps them to get off the bottle easier...plus, I'm lazy and she won't hold the bottle on her own yet, but she will this...wishful thinking it could be a replacement this early...
But you know...when you're watching your baby grow up WAY to fast right in front of your eyes, every "close" moment counts.
